A few of my favorite things... Sep 25

Let me just begin this entry by saying that my days with Savannah are by no means perfect.  I feel like every entry I have written may paint the picture that our little one is an angel baby.  When my doctor asked how things were going with Savannah at my 6 weeks check-up, he said:  "She's perfect, right?"   My response:  "Precious, not perfect."  Though she is truly a gift from heaven and truly precious, she definitely has bad days.  I'll have to write about those too.

That being said, Savannah does do a lot of things that are my favorite, making her, of course, my favorite baby.  Like...I love it when, at bedtime, I'm "encouraging" her to wind down, she starts "talking" to me and looking around her room like she loves it.  I think what she really loves is the nightlight shadows, especially since it illuminates the sequins on her pink curtains, making the entire room look like angels are floating down from heaven to wish her good night.  This entire scenario makes me feel like she's saying:  "Thanks, mommy, for all the thought you put into my room.  You did a great job. I love the pink and brown color scheme!  And, those polka dot sheets on my bed are my favorite!"

I love it when she plays with me on the floor.  Especially when I lay down and let her sit on my tummy...she always reaches forward to grab my face.

I love it when she scratches surfaces.  She loves to scratch anything~her rocking chair and her car seat especially.  Tonight as I was rubbing her back after she had her bottle, she started to scratch my arm.  It was almost as if she wanted to give me a special touch like I was giving her.

I love it when she "dances" on her changing table.  She moves her head and her shoulders from left to right, really fast.  I call this the wiggle dance.

I love it when I turn on the video Aaron made of her life 0-3 months (Honey, when does the 3-6 months one come out?), and she cannot take her eyes off of it.  I think she must recognize the voices because she sure does not fixate her eyes on Baby Einstein when I put that on.

I love it that she sucks her thumb (I'm sure the dentist would totally disagree) to soothe herself.  I love it that she loves her Bumbo seat and Exersaucer.  I love it that she likes watching me clean the house and cook dinner.  All these things help me to get at least a few things done around the house.

I love watching her face light up when she sees Aaron first thing in the morning or when he gets home from work.  That two teeth smile is priceless.  As is the smile on his face looking down at his little girl.

Awww, those are all sweet things she's doing. Does she ever try to "eat" your face? Lately Jack has been grabbing my face and trying to eat it. I like to think that it's because I'm so sweet. ;) I can't wait to see our little "bugs" together again.
