November 30th Dec 04
As November 30th approached, I knew it was a good and bad day. Good because it was my mom's birthday (Happy Birthday, Mom!). Also fun because we got to see her this day, and spent the very first night with them in their new house, which, by the way, was only about 97% complete. Although that sounds like a good number, let me just paint a picture in your heads. Aaron and I had no door in the room we slept. This would not have been so bad did we not have a curious beagle who could not resisting waking up, shaking her head from left to right so that the whole bed shook, plopping on the floor and roaming around the house, oh about every hour. She even brought Maggie (mom's dog) back with her a couple of times when she decided she needed to snooze for 30-45 minutes, only to begin the whole process again. We also had no blinds, which, being a city girl, I had to have something up on the window or I could not sleep comfortably even though we were in the middle of nowhere. The blanket we put up came down sometime around Charley's 5th rendevous around the house, making my few hours of sleep come more quickly to a halt when the sun blared in my eyes around 6:45 a.m. Despite the unfinished stairs that had the potential to cause massive splinters, dust, and a few other tiny "unfinished-ness", we really had a good time and look forward to Christmas when I know everything will be in place. This is when I will post pictures because I do not think my mom would have appreciated me captivating the house quite yet for all to see.
A bad day because this day marked when I was suppose to have my 3 projects finished...do you remember them? 1-Savannah's picture albums all caught up. 2-Savannah's Christmas dress ready to wear. 3-Savannah's capacity to learn and execute sign language blossoming by the minute. Okay, so not one project is finished, though #2 is very close to completion. That is only because my sweet mother-in-law is doing that one. As far as #3 goes, what was I thinking? I'm much more of a talker than I am a "hand"y woman...I'm just going to believe the same about Savannah. Seriously, I am still doing a bit of sign language with her...it just hasn't been as successful as I imagined it to be. And, #1...well, one of these days I'm going to have a big incentive to finish those albums. More to come on that one later...
