Eight Months and Thanksgiving Dec 06

Most of these posts are going back, starting with the most recent event.  So, in that respect, it's time to write about Savannah turning 8 months (I truly cannot believe it!) and her first Thanksgiving.

Eight Months~One thing I am learning about Savannah is that she loves being a girl I do believe!  Most babies around this age love to pull mommy's necklaces and grab at earrings.  Savannah is no different, but she loves even the girliest of things already.  I walked into a nail salon one day with her to check on an appointment.  Waking up from a quick car nap, she was a bit groggy.  Then, we stepped into the salon and that face just lit up as she could barely take in all the colors and the wonder of nail painting fast enough!  And, she absolutely loves her brush...just loves it.  I think her absolute favorite pasttime these days is watching me put on make-up and straighten my hair.  I'll look up from these tasks and she'll just be staring at me, grinning.   I must add:  in the days and years to come, if she ends up being not as girly as I am predicting, that is quite okay.  But, it's fun to watch her love these things now at such a young age.

She's not crawling yet, but I believe she is making progress.  Another fun new "thing" is that when she walks into a room where she knows the people really well (Daddy, Aunt Natalie, MamaBoe, etc.), she'll put forth a bit of a scream, as if to say "Hey!". And, eating puffs (as well as giving them to Charley) with her 5 teeth is a favorite activity.

Thanksgiving~ We did things a bit different this year and went to Aaron's aunt and uncle's lakehouse in Arkansas, which is a lovely place at Horseshoe Lake.  The best part of the day is that we got to break out her faux fur rabbit ear coat from Honey.  (And you wonder where this "girliness" comes from...) Savannah would not have a thing to do with the various Thanksgiving foods I proceeded to stuff in her mouth, so I guess we'll save that yummy activity for next year.
