Snow Day Feb 13
So it really was not a snow day here in Memphis, TN, but there were definitely snow flakes falling this morning as Savannah and I were running errands. And, I must say, she thought it was much fun feeling the flakes coming down on her face. Now I have recorded her "first snow" or as much as she will probably see this year.
We did have some fun pre-Valentine Day activities today. First, we bought 90 carnations. One of my responsibilities at school as a 2-day a week teacher is to organize what is equivalent to student government activites. So that meant that I had to go to Costco this morning and purchase the carnations which we sold in celebration of heart day. By the way, all you old ECS"ers"~do you have memories of the carnation sale that took place EVERY Valentine's Day for as long as I can remember? I ended up going away with at least 4-5 carnations and this was not because I had admirers. It was due to the silly, but faithful friends that I had and we all planned to buy each other carnations so we would not feel so lonely when every other girl was getting carnations during homeroom and we were just sitting there. Moving on..
I also made cupcakes today for my special Valentine. I let Savannah "help" too meaning that I just held her as I sprinkled the last sprinkles on the cupcakes.
Then~and this is not very Valentinish~we bundled up and went for a very cold walk. In that second picture of Savannah, she is pointing towards our living room window calling out "Dice. Dice." That's what she calls Charley, our beagle. She (Charley) was howling her head off waiting for me to come in and get her for the walk. Another by the way, Uno, a beagle, won best overall dog in the world in this year's dog show. Another reason why we love our beagle...she probably would not make it in a dog show, but at least her breed shows well.
Happy Valentine's Day!
