grab your what? May 16

So my mom was looking at my blog site awhile back and she looked at me with a weird expression and said something to the effect of: "What are you telling people to grab?" in reference to the phrase to the right...right above my bio. grab my rss feed. I realized the other night that people may not realize what that is and I'd thought I'd explain. For all you very savy web people, you can stop reading now...
Basically what rss feed does is allows me to get pretty much up to the minute notifications when one of the blogs I read is updated. So instead of just bookmarking all the blogs I read and going through the list daily, I also bookmark each of the blog's rss feeds by:
- clicking on the icon at the far right in the navigation bar (Safari's icon actually says RSS, Firefox's icon is orange...not an Explorer user, so I don't know what it is).
- once you click on that, it will give you the RSS page (what I like to refer to as the "behind the scenes" page).
- click and drag the icon that comes directly before the URL on this "behind the scenes" page in a favorites folder entitled RSS Feeds (or whatever you want to name it)
- there you have it...now you can get updates whenever the writers of the blogs you go to update.

one more thing...if the website if private, the RSS feed will not be able to automatically update!
