Our Spring in Review May 28

I kept on thinking that Memorial Day was this coming weekend for the whole month of May (Courtney, I'm right there with you) and it "sprung" upon me last weekend and with it, to me, marked the end of spring and the beginning of summer, so I decided to write about our spring and I'm going to try to do it quick because I'm still watching my time and it's 10:04 p.m. and I've done exceptionally well lately getting in bed a bit earlier, but I started to check the blogs I read just a second ago and now I'm inspired to write (how long can one sentence be?)...

Well, I'm still pregnant, along with my friend Lee but I'm totally convinced she will have Baby Stewart before I have Aubrey for some reason (yes, we named her FINALLY...Aubrey Melanie). And Aubrey's room is at about the same exact place it was here. I have much to do!  But then again, we are moving out of this house so soon, so I figure: why hang anything on her walls just to take it down in a month and half later?  Hmm...already I feel like she's not getting "as much" as Savannah.  But oh how I am looking forward to her birth and seeing this sweet little one!  Speaking of Savannah...she can now point to where her baby sister is.  We'll say:  "Where's Aubrey?", and she will point to my tummy.  Then, she will give Aubrey a kiss or more like a lick.  She'll keep my shirt up for a moments before she realizes (or atleast I pretend she realizes) that: "Oh wait, it is not just mommy and me anymore...let's cover this tummy up so now no more Aubrey..." and she'll pull my shirt back over my stomach.  I am quite encouraged though by this whole process and even more, she seems to be delighted in babies.  On Sunday, they told me in the nursery that she was absolutely fascinated by the 3-month old that was in there.  We shall see very soon how she "takes" her baby sister. This spring Savannah also met a milestone that I've been trying to force upon her since her hair began to grow enough: Bows!  And she would always take them out and I would always put them back in and it was a never ending process, much to my woe.  Now, she LOVES bows and even wants to wear them for fun when she does not have to .  Oh what sweetness to my heart!

Let's see...a few more tid-bits. For those of you who wondered, our azaleas did great (thanks for the tip, Laura!).  And I'm still loving the bread machine and the crock-pot (oh how I need to post recipes I'm using for both...mealtimes are much more enjoyable around here).  I'm through with that stinkin' class and even got an A although I think they grade extremely leniently.  That was one big project of my Spring. The other one was spring cleaning the house and I was so thankful I did that when it came time to put it up for sale although I did not have that object in mind during that project.  My other big project was scrapbooking but I have postponed that one until slower days in Louisville.  Hmm...I'm officially a full-time stay at home mom and wife and although I only worked two days a week previously, having those two days surely do make a difference. Love that.  And last but not least, my newest way to feel a bit more like Donna Reed is the sewing machine my parents purchased for me for my birthday and gave to me a whole three months early (they get real excited over birthdays and what is more, they cannot keep a secret).  Although I'm a bit nervous about getting this very Donna Reed-ish item out of its box because when I sew I have to have someone at my side at all times so I'm hoping to take some sewing lessons from some various people over the next month before I get out of town and all by my lonesome self with this machine.

What a great spring it was!  And how I'm ready for bathing suits (not on me but on Savannah) and for the arrival of Baby Aubrey! That pic of Savannah and her little friend Jack (I know it's weird that you can't see their faces but it gets me every time when they stand next to each other because they are so close in age and in size) is at  sprinkler/splash park in Collierville...does anyone know of any others in town???)

I bet there are some folks in Lousiville that are super excited that yall are headed their way! There is a sprinkler park at Peabody Park in Midtown on Cooper. I don't know the schedule, though. Happy Splashing!

Glad to help with your azaleas. That stuff did wonders for ours. I can't believe yall are moving? Is it the same seminary the Dawkins are at? That's a big step. We will pray for yall!
