Nesting or Not? Jun 07

Today was a rare day for me.  Savannah spent the night at Aaron's parents last night, leaving the morning wide open and a bit too quiet.  As hard as I tried, I could not sleep past 7:15ish.  So, I got up and piddled around for a bit, then I did something my heart loves to do~cleaned the house! I love it and today was especially fun for some reason.  As I was so vigorously cleaning the kitchen sink, I had this thought: Hmm...maybe I am nesting and I'm going to go into labor within the next few hours. I think not though because I always love to clean. I'm just weird.  I think it's because I love the feeling of a clean house.  All I want to do after I clean the house is to make chocolate chip cookies (NOT from scratch...don't worrry, I'm not that home-maker"ish") and sit in my clean house and just take in the cleanliness of the moment.

And two new things excited me today as I cleaned:

  • My fluffy dust brush: something I've had for months but just brought out a few days ago.  Who would have known how quick it can make dusting?  FYI: Mine, unfortunately, is not green but I found a green one online and think it would be fun to have a green one...

  • My Conair Steamer:  again, something I've had for months but just brought out today.  While I love cleaning the house, I despise ironing and therefore never ever do it unless for some reason the clothes are so very wrinkled the dryer just won't cut it.  And while I know a steamer has nothing to do with cleaning, it just made me so happy to whip out that little thing and make Savannah's Sunday dress for tomorrow all nice and crisp within a minute.  Who would have known how simple ironing could be?

Again, it doesn't take much to literally thrill me.  A clean house. A steamer. A dust brush. Cookies. And even better, the smell of candles lit in a clean house while I'm eating those cookies. Okay, I've gotta go make cookies now!
