We're here... Aug 17

Well it's 11:02 p.m. on Sunday, August 17th and we're officially Louisville-ians (hmm...not quite sure how to spell that). We're still surrounded by boxes and for those of you who know me, you know this is driving me nutso but I'm learning that life is more than having boxes unpacked in two days.
The girls have done GREAT the past few days as we've been living out of suitcases, eating not so healthily, and sleeping in an unknown house. Aubrey is definitely termed our "trooper baby" because half of her life (granted, she's only two 1/2 months old) she's been moved from place to place and just rolled with it. Savannah, not so much a trooper in the past, is really adjusting well and I thought she was going to jump out of the grocery cart a couple of times tonight as we were picking out fruits, she got so excited~I guess because she hasn't had strawberries in a few days.
Aaron is currently reading for school (he starts tomorrow!) and I am in desperate need of the bed.
Oh and let me not forgot: the Dawkins. Umm, if any of you only slightly know them, I need not write how absolutely precious they are. And they have proven to be that and more since we got here on Thursday. Really, they're the best!
And, lastly, just a few things I've already noticed about L-ville...
- I don't think children wear bows here. 7 out of 10 people who have randomly talked to us have each said something about the "pretty bow" Savannah is wearing. Not quite sure they really think it's pretty or they're just not quite sure how to react to my Southern ways of doning my 17 month old little girl with big, colorful bows.
- I think that I was probably a really unfriendly neighbor in the past but the street we are living on may change my ways. Neighbors have been beyond friendly, bringing cookies even. One little girl put a "welcome to our street" note in our mailbox. Now that's not just friendly, that's sweet.
- I felt like a very not good mom today at the church we visited when I tried to put Aubrey in the nursery. Two people looked at us weird and questioned her age. Hence, we decided to take her into the service with us where I found A LOT of babies, much older than Aubrey too. This was a little bit overwhelming because I'm all about the nursery on Sundays. Looks like if we go to that church I may not be putting her in there for awhile though.
- Did I mention that if you move to a new city, be sure there are Dawkins there. They make the transition much more pleasant.
