Night night Aug 20
Mama Mama Aubey Aubey Mama Mama Aubey Aubey.
These are the words I've been hearing over the monitor for, oh, about an hour now. Call me crazy, but we put both girls in the same room tonight. Savannah apparently is very excited to have "Aubey" in the room and can't quite settle down about it. Aubrey has been quiet the entire time, but oh wait, I now hear her.
Hmm...bad idea to put them in the same room at such early ages? Maybe. But we're doing it. Aaron calls it "experimenting". I call it "sweet". It may be a saga. We shall see...

Laurin, my kids have shared a room from the get go. It's not a crazy idea at all!!! Your girls will love it and learn to treasure that experience.
Well, I'm happy to say that it went really well. Aubrey woke up after her normal time of sleeping (about 8 hours) to eat but Savannah didn't stir...Savannah did wake up earlier than she usually does calling out Aubrey's name. So, one night down...many more to go!
I don't think it's a bad idea, as long as she's not waking Aubrey up. I think siblings fall asleep better with each other in the room. I can't wait until ours can be in the same room! We only have two bedrooms, so we really don't have another option. Nash is still waking up 1-2 x's every night. I don't want him to wake up Shea, so he's still in our room. When he starts sleeping 6-8 hours consistently, I'm taking down the pack-n-play and he's going to Shea's room!

We thought at first we'd put Aubrey in the room right off of the bedroom they're in, which is like a playroom for them now. But, we just decided to go ahead and "jump in" and let them be in the same room. During Savannah's nap time though, I put Aubrey in the pack n play in the playroom when she's napping just b/c S is not as a deep sleeper during that time as she seems to be at night.
Night 2 is underway as I write...I haven't heard either girls over the monitor YET...
so your baby, who is 8 days older than my baby, is sleeping 8 hours at a time? i'm soooo jealous! what is it like to sleep more than 3 hrs in a row?
